How’s your periodical exam? Did you do well on your midterms? Is your departmental exam driving you crazy? Do you see numbers ev-ery-where? How’s that essay you’ve been working on? Did your boss tell you to “do better next time” again? I still have a lot of questions but one thing’s for sure: Babe, your eye-bags are darker than my soul!

Imagine this: You are outside — your happy place; your comfort zone. You see a lot of birds flying but you don’t hear the chirps. You want to feel the air embracing you but all you feel is that heavy weight on your shoulders. You try to breathe properly but your breathing is just way too heavy. You want to relax but you know that the moment you step inside that room again, a lot of papers to fill up, works to finish, books to read and overloaded schedule will welcome you… to somewhere beyond hell.

Then you ask yourself this, “When will this ever end?” Got news for you… IT WON’T. As you grow older and older, there will be a LOT more responsibilities to do. You don’t go to school just to get a diploma then forget about life! You go to school to learn and to apply it in your soon-to-be career in life. You need to earn money to be able to sustain your future. You need to be knowledgable enough to compete with billions of people all around the world. You need to reach your dreams and get accepted for your dream job! You need to make sure that you die peacefully with contentment with life.

Am I pressuring you now?

That’s a good sign. But don’t worry, I’m not here to feed you life advices that will make you face your books even more than reading this blog. I am here to help you relax. YES, YOU READ IT RIGHT.

YOU-NEED-TO-RELAAAAAX!

Social media can be very tempting but I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about something else — something that will bring out that adventurous spirit of yours (it’s been a while). A little time won’t hurt. A little relaxation won’t break your future. Leave your works behind, forget about them for just a little while, pack your things and go somewhere that makes you happy and makes you feel calm. If you don’t feel like going alone, bring along someone that can make you forget about your problems or better yet, bring along someone who needs it more than you do!

“Oh Angelica Rose, I don’t have time for that.” Oh shut up. Of course, you do! As long as you’re alive and kicking then you still have time to enjoy life! It’s not always about deadlines and overloaded schedule but life is also about enjoying heaven as you also embrace hell at the same time. Remember, regrets are felt when it’s just too late. You might be very active today but who knows until when? Everyone’s going through something but it’s never too late for you to make your life colorful.

I have here my Top Ten reasons why you need to relax, unwind, and calm your mind because babe, I know you want to.

10.) FOR A LITTLE VACATION

Who doesn’t love to travel, right? Of all the many ways to unwind, this is my personal favorite. You will get to see the true beauty of nature and you will even appreciate it just by looking at the sea or smelling the flowers. If you’re the type of person who cannot fully relax in just a day, then plan about extending your vacation and how you make it memorable and relaxing at the same time.

PS: Don’t forget to download your favorite songs or bring your favorite novel while traveling!

9.) FOR YOU TO BREATHE

Because it looks like your books are choking you! Have time to fully clear your mind and replace it with happy and only happy thoughts. One way of fully relaxing yourself is forgetting about things that makes you want to kill yourself. Close your eyes. Breathe in. Breathe out. Take a deep breath and exhale that negative thought that has been running through your mind for the past many years of your existence.

8.) TO ESCAPE REALITY FOR A LITTLE WHILE

Sometimes we feel like life is secretly telling us to suffer and suffer and suffer a lot more. Even the world, the universe rather, agrees with me that you need to have time to escape reality for a little while. If you’re the type of person who loves novels (like I do!), then just simply flip the book and allow yourself to enter the kingdom of fantasy — where there is nothing but happy endings. But if you’re the type of person who loves to go on adventures as way of escaping reality, then ziplines and crazy adventures will make you feel relaxed. Anything will do as long as you do it to forget your problems even in a limited span of time.

7.) TO BECOME MORE CREATIVE

If you give yourself time to think creatively, then expect a lot of poems and songs you can write in a day! Relaxing on the beach or somewhere silent and windy is the favorite place of an author or songwriter to create a masterpiece. This is where a lot of words, metaphors, and rhymes come in and give you a very nice outcome of your work. If you’re this type of person, gimme that high five! And thank me later.

6.) TO EASE THE PAIN A LITTLE BIT

Too much problems can lead you to stress and depression. Because of this, it will be a lot easier to hurt you and your precious feelings. We all have problems in life and we all have our own ways of solving it. But for me, it’s better to have a break from all the craziness and have some peace of mind. Try to breathe in happy thoughts and exhale the pain you’re feeling inside. Crying can be one option of easing the pain a little bit too but you can never cry forever. Remember, pain will only stop once you accept the things that you find difficult to accept. Lessen the pain as early as possible for you to move on… earlier than expected.

5.) IT’S GOOD FOR THE BRAIN

If it’s good for the heart, then it’s good for the brain too. If you have your peace of mind, you’re actually allowing a lot of happy thoughts to fill the holes inside your brain. Stress and depression will be lessened and it will help you to become more productive the following day. Our brain is the center of all our senses and therefore since it’s one of the most important organs in our body, we need to give it time to relax and to think about nothing. Blank. Complete blank.

4.) TO GIVE YOUR HEART A BREAK!

OH! Did this catch your attention? Did he or she do something wrong? Perhaps something disappointing and heartbreaking? Did you just have a big fight? Break up? Tsk. Babe, you are not alone. Love can be a bit painful but rather than going through sleepless nights and nonstop tears, why not relax your heart instead? Too much heartbreak can kill you. True story. You need to relax for you to fully calm your heart and I know unwinding isn’t the best option to do so but trust me, it can help. Been there, done that.

3.) IT CAN MAKE YOU REALIZE A LOT OF THINGS

Like your plans for the future, the mistakes you’ve done in the past, how your life completely turned into something unexpected and many more life realizations. You can even compare your life before to the kind of life you’re having right now. You can realize how much of a fool you’ve been or how much of an angel you were towards other people. Life realizations can actually make you smile. And when you smile, you relax your brain and heart at the same time. Happiness is just somewhere around the corner. It’s never too late to correct your mistakes and to do better for the future.

2.) IT’S THE BEST WAY TO FIND YOURSELF

When we’re too exposed to a lot and different kinds of people, we sometimes forget about ourselves. When stress starts to live within us, we often forget how to be happy again. Sure, camaraderie is fun but at the end of the day, you only have yourself. Everybody comes and goes. They make you happy or they hurt you. Nobody will stay with you because you were born alone and you are bound to face the world having yourself and yourself only in the end. Today’s the perfect day to find yourself again. If you feel like you lost your happy soul a long time ago, then look for it. Start to check out that bucket list you’ve always wanted to finish. Come up with realizations that help you find yourself. Be happy. You have to be.

1.) YOU DESERVE IT

You’ve been through a lot and for that, allow me to congratulate you for a job well done. You’re still here, alive and kicking and still ready to fight for life. But also give time to relax yourself. Love yourself. Allow yourself to embrace life’s pleasures. Allow yourself to breathe and relax. Allow yourself to have a little fun even though you’re already tripping because of the problems you are facing right now. Allow yourself to be happy because again, you deserve it.

Slowly look back to what has happened in your life a few years ago. Did you have much time to relax? If not, then maybe it’s time to do it. A whole day is enough and even if it’s not too much time, I tell you, it’s very worth it.
